50 is a Hustler
If you have been following me for some time, you may know that one of my biggest interests besides strength training is how people cultivate a mindset of success and how literally anyone can choose this mindset, yet so few actually do. At my gym, I am all about making the athletes and members physically stronger, but I care more about their mental toughness and ability to have a ‘success mindset’ throughout their lives. This is the ‘hidden key’ that most people fail to realize they possess their entire lives.
Take a look at the above picture of 50 Cent. This is a picture in his neighborhood up in Connecticut. This situation was brought to my attention this past weekend and I just knew that I would have to write about it. Here, you have a 30 year old something man, which a boatload of money already in the bank. There is no ‘logical’ reason why 50 would have to go out and shovel snow, but he did. He made it his goal that day to earn $1,000 which up there probably means 10 driveways or so. Any way you slice it, $1,000 is $1,000. 50 has the hustler’s mindset: when and where there is an opportunity, he is there. Doesn’t matter if you are perfectly equipped for the job or not, you find a way.
You have to admire a man that was born into the hood, only to rise up and out of it so far that some of his ‘peers’ think he is a sell out. 50 had a plan all along and as I have mentioned before, his book, The 50th Law
is an awesome read and one that will leave you feeling inspired. I think it is important that we all figure out what makes us feel passionate and start moving towards that passion each and every day. It’s what makes me get up at 4 AM every day, going full tilt until 9:45 PM. Do I have the energy to do this? Not every day, but the passion carries me through. I like to think I have a little bit of Hustler in me too and anyone that is a hustler has a place reserved for them on the mountain top of success. Should I make your reservation too?
