Why Goals are Important

Every year, about this time, late August, I set my goals for the next year. It has become a tradition for me and something I greatly look forward to. In fact, I can honestly say that the past 2 years I was able to accomplish every single one of my goals that I wrote done, from my personal life, to my business.

There is a distinct difference between saying a goal out loud or in your head and writing it down. I can’t explain the science behind it, but I know there is a very emotional connection to writing things down. I am very wary of people that say things but never commit to them on paper.

If you are anything like me, you will take some time this weekend to go pick up an empty notebook and start writing down your goals for the year. And you will rewrite them ever single day. Its not hard, remember what I said yesterday, but many people will not take the time to do it. Two years ago, before moving into the official Newell Strength facility, I listened to:

It’s goal time people and when you look back in a year, I don’t want you to be sitting in the same situation. You make your life, no one else….
