ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO Brittany Knapp
Brittany is from Hillsborough, NJ, nurse and a mother to her 5-year-old son & rescue puppy. Brittany overcome thyroid cancer at the age of 13 and then colon cancer at the age of 34. This year as she turned 36, she wanted health and happiness as her New Year’s Resolution but in May 2019, all that changed. It all began with shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, and a fast resting heart rate. Brittany thought it was bronchitis but at her doctor’s visit, they immediately sent her to the ER and diagnosed her with dilated cardiomyopathy with congestive heart failure. Over those next 3 months, her health significantly declined and she was told that she needed a heart transplant as soon as possible. Brittany was in the hospital for two and half months and endured countless setbacks. She thought she wasn’t going to make it until that morning when she received news that she had a donor match and would have surgery that day. Last month on October 15, 2019, Brittany had a successful heart transplant!
Brittany is beyond thankful for the amount of support & love that she has received and grateful that her son has a mommy that can watch him grow up as well as friends, family and all the beauty in life that was worth fighting for.
Brittany has been unable to work for the past few months and although she currently has health insurance, it does not cover it all. A heart transplant can cost upwards of $900,000 in the United States. TransplantLiving.org broke down the costs for the pre-transplant, procurement, hospital admission, physician’s fees, post-transplant fees and immuno-suppressants. Additionally, follow-up care can cost over $21,000 per year, for the cost of medication, cardiologist fees, and required tests. Please, let us come together to help raise funds for Brittany so that she will have one less thing to worry about.
Bring family and friends as we support Brittany! PLEASE share this and spread the word!
