2 weeks ago, I was doing a quick Cost-Co trip for the party Newell Strength was having at the winery the following night. When I got in line, this dude Chuck came over to help load up my times. I asked him for a box and he said, ‘For you, anything buddy’. This wasn’t the first time he came over to seek me out. We always make small talk and he tells me about his time in the state pen. Nice guy though. Anyhow, he says to the clerk, Melanie, ‘You know who this guy is, right?
A year ago, Pat Fox started to train at Newell Strength. Like anyone, he had to feel out the community and environment. And look at him now, down 80 pounds and wearing an American Flag romper the traditional Saturday morning workout. Success in fitness is largely about enjoyment, having fun and being around other like-minded people that embrace YOU as a unique person. I can remember creating fictional conversations in my head during my days of competition in order to constantly push myself a little bit further. I would even do things like talk to myself in the 3rd or 4th person:) And these are tactics to stay motivated, but sustained motivation actually comes from having inspiration.
