How do You Take Care of Your Heart?

When I was a young boy, 10 or 11 years old, I had to wear this heart rate device with electrodes all over me. The heart specialist had thought in my exam that it was worth the precaution. For a young kid, that is a scary thing.

It turned out to be nothing too serious, but I have always taken an interest in studying heart health since that point.

We must take care of our heart’s both physically and from a love perspective.

From the physical, realize that the more muscle you work, the more cardio work you get. The muscular system drives the cardiovascular system. Armed with that knowledge, would you get more ‘cardio’ out of doing 20 minutes on the elliptical at an easy pace or 4 sets of pushups paired with goblet squat or a relatively (to you) heavy weight?

From the love side, you must appreciate. What you appreciate, appreciates. Discipline exists but only in the scope of love. If you are doing something for someone or something you love, discipline seems to be infinite.

If you don’t love the thing, will power comes into play and we all know how that ends up.

All religions are focused on being in the present moment. If you fail to be in the present moment, your ability to love life is greatly diminished. If you energy is scattered, if your mind is in two places at once, then you cannot unleash the full power of your spirit.
