Become a Workout Warrior?
In late 2008, early 2009, people would come up to me while I was training and ask if I was doing Crossfit.
I was perplexed because I hadn’t heard of it yet.
But my training and the philosophy of Newell Strength, even in its infancy, was so outside the norm that people wanted to attach a title to it.
So yes, Newell Strength does indeed predate Crossfit.
And normally I don’t say much about them, because I don’t focus on other places.
Yet, it keeps coming up to me, from people that are jumping ship from places like that, that the said trainers at other places don’t understand that most people aren’t training to simply get good at exercising.
To exercise to become a good ‘exerciser’ is stupid.
There has to be a carry over to life: playing with your kids, being able to participate in daily activities that you enjoy, a better mindset, etc.
If you come across these ‘fake experts’ that want you to get good at sweating, tell them to take a hike.
The key with exercise is that you enjoy the process and that you get a sweat, all else falls under those things.
