On Friday, I picked Braxton up from school and we decided to stop off for some gifts at the Wal-Mart right around the corner from school.
Somehow or another, we got to talking about hunting and mindset, since he had just gone out for target practice and skill work earlier in the week.
When the opportunity presents itself, I try and teach him and Colt lessons about the mind, but only when I see a gap in the doorway so to speak, in which I think their young mind can absorb what I am telling them.
Now, to use hunting, I am a novice that has happened to get off to a good start the past few years.
When I set a plan to go out on a hunt, it is a spiritual committment. With that, I explained to Braxton what goes on in my mind before the hunt.
First, I picture the scenario and I have no doubt that a deer will cross my path. Not maybe, not if, but one WILL.
Secondly, as the time gets closer or sometimes even right before, I honor the animals, knowing that they are guests on this earth just as I am and I am grateful for them. They are part of the cycle of life. A successful hunt leads to their being sustaining me and my family, it becomes a part of us.
Getting back to Braxton. He was just about grasping the concept of visualizing when he said, ‘Dad, I’m hungry.’
To which I said, ‘Ok, see. That’s what I was just talking about. Think about this Brax. The thought popped into your head that you were hungry. Next, you told me that you were hungry and what’s the third thing that will happen, the very next thing in that chain?’
‘I am going to buy you some food in here. Because you had the thought, put it into words, you just created your reality because now you are going to eat.’
I know that example seems so simple that it’ll fly right over most people’s heads, but it’s all there. Visualizing your reality and the formula for creation (thoughts, words, action).
Do with it as you may.
I’ll be teaching deep visualization in the upcoming 6 weeks Mental-Verse course in November on Mind Map and creation.
