3 Things I’d Do to Make You Fat for a Movie Role

I remember back in the early 2000’s when I saw the movie Cop Land with Sylvester Stallone.

It was unusual for him, because he was playing an out of shape, deaf, cop. I recall reading about how he gained the weight for the movie.

With that in mind, if you came to us and said you had to gain fat for a movie role, here’s what I’d have you do:

  1. Sleep less: Yup, this would be the first change I’d make. No more than 6 hours per night and if possible, I’d try to wake you up at least once in the middle of the night.

  2. Eat often, eat small: I’d have you eating 3 square meals per day, plus 2-3 snacks, while making sure to keep you in a caloric deficit. I’d probably take your bodyweight and multiply it by 8 as a starting point.

  3. Low sodium and water consumption: I’d have you keep your sodium low and I’d limit water intake to 32-40 oz maximum per day.

But the learning for you is in recognizing the list and pondering them in your head.
