Throughout the years, KiMiNs (pictured here), has come across many interesting characters in the field of fitness.

One type of Tool Boy that is always lurking is the Tool Boy has all the answers.

Which is the first sign that he really knows nothing.

Know that you know nothing, then you can begin to know. But that’s a different thing for a different article.

When they lecture at their clients, they speak in words that I cannot even spell and explain concepts that PhD Kinesiology students would have trouble understanding.

If someone cannot explain a concept (in any field) that a third grader could understand, then they have not mastered the subject.

A Tool Boy does not like when you question him, especially if your line of questioning is simple and logical.

A Tool Boy needs to complicate things such as diet and exercise because in their worldview, they then become an indispensable need in the life of their client, potentially.

I love when I come across a Tool Boy and have a conversation with him in which he wants to complicate a matter while I want to simplify it.

You can have a lot of fun with a Tool Boy once they are identified.

Tool Boy is about ego, about projecting themselves as superior. A Coach is merely a guide, to get you from point A to point B, a point that you cannot get to on your own.

A real Coach with a capital C is there to serve. A Tool Boy is there to serve himself.
