Affirmations in the Middle of a Workout?

On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we did the Murph workout in honor of the fallen Navy SEAL and all the other vets out there.

The workout is tough and not for the faint of heart.

Well, at one point in the workout, I looked over and saw one of the guys, Cary, sitting in the corner.

‘Yo, you ok bud?’ I asked.

‘Yup, just gathering my breathing and talking some positive words to myself to get through this’.

His affirmation, which he later shared with me: ‘I am strong and I am capable. I can accomplish anything with enough dedication and persistence.’

That’s beautiful right there.

A good workout should train the mind as much, if not more, than the body.

Your mind will always want to quit first, the trick is not to let it.
