Almost a Bloody Massacre in the Shed
Exactly 2 weeks ago, I was doing some early evening work in the shed.
And at this time of year, I have to get the old wood burning stove going so my hands don’t freeze off.
Well, I was getting it ready, then ran back inside to get something.
I came back out and sat at my desk and began plugging away on my computer. I was only planning on doing an hour's worth of work before Devon was to head into work.
I can’t recall exactly what I was typing when the gunshot in the shed went off. BOOM…
I couldn’t hear for about 20 seconds and then I look around to see what the heck had happened. Apparently, I left the lighter on top of the stove when I went back inside before coming out to work.
That was a disaster waiting to happen. The scary thing is, when it exploded, there were pieces of metal and sharp plastic that at the very least could have made the back of noggin turn into swiss cheese if it connected with me.
A nice wakeup call that at any moment, life can take a drastic call. We need those from time to time. Luckily, it just caused a bit of deafness for an hour or so.
Be where you are and don’t get caught up too much in the future.
