DADS: YOU ARE AT THE PINNACLE OF YOUR LIFE!





Back in 2014, we held our first Ripped Dads program at Newell Strength.


At the time, I wasn’t yet a dad, so I couldn’t fully grasp what the dads in the program were living on a day to day basis.


That was the one and only Ripped Dads contest we ran in which I wasn’t a dad.


Now, being a little older and wiser, I am even more on fire for this program.


If you are a dad and you think your best years have passed you by, think again.


Think of a pro athlete; most of the time, when they are at their peak physically, they don’t have the life experience or wisdom to go along with it.


And then when they acquire those traits that only the passage of time can allow, their physical traits are on the decline.


As a side note, this is one reason I think Tom Brady’s career is so fascinating, but another article for another time.


Well, the good news is, that you aren’t a pro athlete which means you don’t need to have the physical superiority as far as speed and power is concerned that pro athletes need when they are in their 20’s and early 30’s.


What you are stepping into though is the prime of your life.


Embrace that ‘old man strength’ that only comes along from a body that is well into its third decade and beyond.


Realize that having a powerful set of forearms, a muscular upper back and strong hips goes a long way to making you a superhero to your family.


Combine that with wisdom and patience and you are at your peak.


Maybe you don’t feel like it at this exact moment.


But the desire and potential are there.


All it’s going to take is your mind to make a choice and to embrace this moment and to set yourself up for the coming years and decades of your life as a dad.


Being a Ripped Dad is about having a swag that you could only pretend you had when you were younger.


By this point in life, you have your values, you’ve dug your roots, now its time to realize that your greatest moments are right now and right in front of you.


Take joy in that and sharpen your iron with iron.
