I recall shortly after the holidays this past year, right after Leo passed, I was in a funk.

It went on for a week until Devon looked at me and said, β€˜You can’t save the world, stop thinking about it. We need you, right here, right now’.

Bam! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

That rung my bell and resonated BIG time with me.

As a Dad with a capital D, I can only really control what goes on in my garden, my four walls.

Make no mistake about it, Devon is a Super Mom and I learn much from her each day.

But, with the craziness of the world these days, it’s up to me to plan for rough waters ahead with my family.

This means, make sure I am being selfish in a good way: is my fitness up to par? Am I working on my mind each day? Am I connecting with my higher power?

Yes, focus on your mind, body and spirit each day.

As the Dad, you are the one that is the protector.

Is your house in order?

Are your kids learning the right things?

Does your family feel safe with you at the helm?

The last thing we need to do as Dad’s is to worry about world policy when we have more improving to do at home.

Tend to your garden, don’t let it wither, protect it, nurture it.

Be the man that other men think, β€˜Man, that dude has his stuff together’.

And then, surround yourself by other strong Dad’s within your community.

Despite what is said these days, Dads, strong Dads, are more important than ever.

Remember that as you head into Father’s Day weekend.
