Engaging Your Mammal Brain
Two weekends ago, after we had the charity workout for GiGi’s Playhouse, we were hanging and shooting the breeze, while Tank and Munchie were playing with Elise Reed, aka the Champ (she’s defending her MMA title on May 29th).
It was a beautiful thing to watch and totally unplanned.
Before you knew it, they had popped holes into the tops of water bottles and were having a full on water fight. Mind you, it wasn’t exactly warm on this particular Saturday.
Anyhow, poor Dana got in the middle of it and wound up getting soaked.
The boys were talking about it the whole way home.
Your mammal brain craves connection and joyful camaraderie.
Most of the time, you can’t plan these moments out, they just happen.
It’s good to plan and prepare with your human brain, but be mindful of giving the mammal brain time to just BE as well.
