Haven’t You Been Motivated Every Year at this Point in Time, Yet Your Body Doesn’t Seem to Change?

I want you to think back to the past 3 or 4 years heading into the New Year.

What were your aspirations and dreams?

I can sure as heck bet that you were more than pumped about at least one of them, and yet, it didn’t come to fruition.

Ideas and motivation aren’t the problem.

If you are like most people that come to Newell Strength, they are coming because they need a Coach (derived from the term stage coach, there to help you get from point A to point B, a place you cannot get to on your own).

They’ve finally realized that motivation alone wasn’t going to get the job done.

In fact, motivation just kept leaving them standing there, all alone, at the end of the dance, when all the excitement was gone, holding your coat in hand, wondering where their partner to be disappeared to.

Motivation in most cases is the enemy. Because it gives your brain just enough of a serotonin hit to satisfy it, yet it doesn’t lead to any lasting action. When those feel good feelings of setting your goal fade away, you can just set another one and daydream about it for a few minutes and bam, all is well in your world again.

Now listen up, you are going to get plenty of fake fitness experts that tell you that you ‘just need to be more motivated’.

They feed the problem and they try to put the responsibility ALL on you. That’s why they are fake, they don’t understand the way this stuff really works. A relationship means support and asking the right questions, redirecting focus and pulling out the inspiration, which is infinite, whereas motivation is finite.

You wanna know what is going to get your confidence up and keep it there?

It’s this: committing to taking the actions needed each day to move you closer to your goals.

That’s it. Simple, not easy. Not sexy by any means. But then again, the most successful in life are the ones that can withstand the boredom of wake up, repeat, go to sleep and on and on.

You don’t need more motivation.

You need to renew your vows to daily commitment, day by day.
