I Nearly Lost It
A couple of weekends ago, we were going to a festival at the Live Free Farm on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
I told Devon that I was going to follow them over on the motorcycle since I was itching to get my 2nd ride in for the week.
The ride looked easy enough, we’d shoot through the mountains the back way, right near our house.
The ride was going beautifully, until we came upon a gravel road with a lot of blind turns.
Riding on gravel is one of the most dangerous things you can do on a bike.
My first thought was one of dread.
And then I got going, not knowing how long this portion of the road would last for.
About a half mile in I was having further thoughts of just leaving the bike in a driveway and having one of my experienced motorcycle buddies come and ride it home. Then I realized how completely irrational that was.
So, I kept on.
Going nice and slow, and before you knew it, 1.5 miles in, we hit pavement again.
I had done it.
Would I have opted to do that had I known? No way!
But, the learning curve was great, and I passed.
When you are on the road of life, you can either turn back, stop and go into freeze mode or proceed with logic.
I chose the latter and I am glad I did.
