Kicking and Screaming
Two Saturdays ago, I had the great pleasure of Coaching youth soccer for the first time.
I knew the day would come, it was part of my destiny.
You see, when I was a youth, my dad, D-Wizzle, was one of my Coaches in nearly every sport we played.
Soccer was always a staple.
In fact, my 10 year old team was the first team in Hillsborough and probably still the only soccer team to win a state title. It was quite a thrill and a big deal for the town at the time.
Now that Colt and Brax are playing, I have the honor of being a Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
It brings me back to my days of teaching PE to the wee little ones.
They are so precious, like play-dough, waiting to be molded. This goes for mind and body.
It brought back memories of patience and laughter from when I was a teacher.
I think teaching and Coaching the youth was one of the great foundations for me in terms of Coaching adults with mind, body and spirit.
I was reminded on that Saturday that simple always prevails. Small plus fun, equals growth.
How can this apply to you?
