No ‘J’ Hooks for You

About a week and a half ago, one of my best friends, Spish, decided to join us for the Friday squat finisher.

Being that it was his first time, I recommended that he go for 3-4 minutes.

Now, knowing Spish for the majority of my life and having had plenty of training sessions with him, I know how to push him, despite when his brain is telling him to stop.

Before he began his set, I warned him that he wasn’t going to like me during this set, but it was all because I loved him.

Well, when he stepped under the weight and stepped out from the rack, Coach Mike and I took off the ‘J’ hooks where you would rack the weight.

This literally took away Spishs’ safety net and wouldn’t you know it, he went for 4.5 minutes.

The next few days were a little rough for him, but now his mind is expanded for the rest of his life.

How can you burn your ships? If only for the moment….
