Pay Peanuts, Get Shenanigans
I was with a buddy the other weekend, going for a hike, when he was telling me about some stories from the Globo Gym he goes to.
I wasn’t surprised, in fact, this is pretty much what I hear on the regular from people that choose to go to Globo:
-People would rather be sitting on their phone, on a piece of equipment, rather than actually using the equipment to workout
-Trainers that think they are the rulers of the gym, bumping people out of the way just so they can set up for their ‘client’
-Zero guidance or direction on how to work out. This is a big one as most gyms don’t realize their role in actual Physical Education. If I just went to Jiu-Jitsu on my own without a Professor and no guidance, I would have ZERO clue on what to do. The gym is no different.
-No accountability. As far as Mr. Globoloney, you are just an ID number. They don’t care about your progress, in fact, they wouldn’t even know if you didn’t show up for a few months.
I can say with 100% confidence that Newell Strength is the exact opposite of all of these bullet points.
It just depends on what YOU are looking to get out of your gym going experience.
Be unconventional - Kyle Newell
