Ten Feet at a Time

On Thanksgiving, we ran the annual Turkey Trot over in Flemington, right after having our 8th annual charity workout in Hillsborough at 7 am.

It’s a fun filled, packed morning; one of my favorite mornings of the year.

For the Turkey Trot, we broke up into pairs, Suzy went with Tank, I went with Brax and Niki went with Emma in her stroller.

Brax and I made it smoothly through the first mile, then his feet started to hurt him.

I tried a few different things, including having him run barefoot.

It turns out that the real issue was that his legs were getting tired.

For the last mile, I’d tell him to pick a target and then we could either run to it or walk to it.

He pretty much ran the entire last mile, simply by breaking it down into doable chunks.

There’s many life lessons in that, take what is useful for you.
