The 4 Keys to A Relationship
About 12 hours into our drive down to Florida, it hit Devon.
The fact that we still had 8 more hours to go. I had thought she was excited about the road trip, but apparently, not as excited as I.
I was pumped because it brought back so many memories from my childhood.
The cool thing was, you could see the kids and the family as a whole growing closer, both on the drive down and on the drive up.
How could that be if we live together everyday?
Well, there are 4 keys to a relationship: proximity, intensity, duration and frequency.
Even if you live with someone, not all of these boxes are revving on high most of the time. In a car, cooped up as you are, all 4 of this are redlining.
A relationship can’t help but develop under these circumstances and bonding is sure to take place.
It’s a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives and yes, Suzy did wind up loving the remainder of the drive down and up. It’s only a matter of reframing, as are most things.
