The First Hour of the Day Should Be Yours

When I examine the most ‘in the zone’ periods of my life, I recognize that during those times, I was on point with a solid morning routine.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I always maintain some kind of discipline with my morning routine, always centered around getting my brain going.

Heck, just two weekends ago, Devon will tell you that I slept in until 6 am (the boys were at their cousins house).

Therein lies your first clue, the most important thing for quality of sleep and a consistent morning routine is to have the same wakeup time, give or take a couple of minutes.

So, what did I ramp up the past few months? I have begun to focus on meditation/breathing, visualization, cold showers and writing down my goals.

I look forward to my wake up time because my morning routine is exciting to me because some of it challenges me.

Anyhow, know that owning the first hour of your day is a critical component to living at your highest level. If you have kids and yada, yada and have no time for yourself, then it's even more important to own this hour before everyone else is up and running around.
