The Most Difficult Thing in the World
About a week and a half ago, one of my long-time friends came over to shoot the breeze and chat about life.
Our conversation was centered around the ability to focus.
Focus is such a simple word and such a simple concept, yet it is so very difficult to maintain.
Anyone can focus for an hour or a day on something they are very excited about, but what happens when that excitement wears off?
The focus goes out the window.
Novelty is the biggest turn on for the brain, so once the novelty is gone, focusing becomes much harder.
The people that attain success in terms of constantly hitting their targets and then setting new targets are the ones that can withstand high degrees of boredom.
Can focus be trained? You bet, and that is what we were brainstorming.
Just remember, where your attention goes, energy flows and results will follow.
