The Most Important Hour of Your Day

I can remember the first time that I heard the Mike Tyson line, ‘Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.’


How true it is.


For you, it may not be stepping into an actual boxing ring, but your busy day is your boxing ring.


Chaos is going to happen and in fact, it should be planned for you in your days and weeks, so when it happens, your brain doesn’t lose its train of thought (remember the brain loves predictions).


So, how do you avoid ‘getting punched in the face’ and having that throw off your self-development plans for the day?


You begin before anyone else is stirring, not even a mouse.


Now, I do realize that different things work for different people, but I can assure you that protecting your ‘golden hour’, the first hour of the day, will always pay dividends for you.


And maybe it doesn’t begin as an hour, maybe it's just 15 minutes in which you can read a little bit and do a quick breathing exercise. That 15 minutes would be well spent.


If you don’t plan your days and don’t live with a level of extraordinary discipline, then you’ll have average days, just like everyone else, that’s why it’s called average.


To be extraordinary isn’t a superpower, it’s setting a plan and sticking with it.
