What’s Your One Thing?
15 years ago, when I began my PE teaching career, I made it a point to teach some basic principles to the kids.
One of those things was the concept of exponential effort.
You’ve probably hear of the compounding effect of money, but either way, here’s a recap of what I would tell them to teach through this analogy:
‘Would you rather have a million dollars right now? Or a penny that doubles every day for 31 days?’
Being kids, they would choose the million dollars, as would most adults probably.
Well, that penny becomes almost 11 million dollars in 31 days.
Here’s the thing tho, it doesn’t really begin to take off until 3 weeks or so into ‘it’.
Focus on one thing that you want to bring to fruition, day after day, and have staying power.
Your efforts will compound.
