When’s the Last Time You
About two weeks ago, I was walking out of the gym after my Friday Finisher squat session.
And lo and behold, I saw YT. YT is a great friend of mine and Devon’s.
I first met YT when I began my teaching career as we taught at the same school (she is still teaching there) since 2006.
Anyhow, over the years, she has become a very calm, spiritual force in our lives.
Well, on this particular day, she was asking about how I was doing and then said, ‘It looks like you could use a hug’.
When she embraced me, I began to cry. Why? Well, I had been feeling a heaviness with everything going on and I am the type to block emotion, almost like a terminator.
Without going into too much detail as to what I had been feeling leading up to this, I want you to know that I felt better after this release.
Sometimes, you have to have tears to have an emotional release. Do it by yourself, do it with someone you trust, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you give yourself the okay to do it.
Judge me if you’d like, that’s up to you. But know that showing emotion is part of the human experience.
