You Need Reps
Two weeks ago at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I rolled for the entire 90 minutes with my good friend PJ.
I’ve known PJ for 20 years or so at this point.
His mind works similar to mine, so when he texted me the insight before about partnering up in the following day’s session, I was pumped.
Normally you will switch off during different periods.
But PJ and I decided to stay together and just get reps.
Rep after rep after rep.
Which helped immensely.
The only way you can get good at something is through reps.
Yes, some people are more gifted at certain things and some people have a more ‘pliable’ nervous system, but you still need reps.
This goes for any habit you are trying to form.
The way this can be sped up is to visualize what you are doing or have done and to further cement your learning by taking notes and or talking about what you did.
All of these things will increase the ‘highway of information that is taking place in your brain.
Repetition is the mother of all skills.
